This rope-way gear is 3000 mm dia and weighs 7.5 MT.
Gear Teeth were damaged and ropeway was shut down .
Spare was not available and delivery period for new supply was 18 months.
Special fixture and tooling was used to do this job. Tooth profile was matched with the pinion for faultless operation.
The gear gave a life of more than 10 years.
