On radial piston hydraulic motors with high volumetric efficiency, and therefore Italgroup IAM series, there can be a phenomenon of oil-overheating in the body motor. Oil drawing from the piston and from the distributor goes into body motor.When this oil quantity is very scanty, it means ther’s a good volumetric efficeincy. In some cases this is positive, like for winch on crane truck or trawl winch, because high volumetric efficiecny avoids motor rotation even under extrenal stress. This scanty quantity of oil is not a problem because the motor works at high pressure only for a short period of time.
