Trepanning tool is used for machining larger holes diameters by removing the material in the form of chips from the periphery and eventually leaving a metal core at the center of the hole, hence this method is for through-hole applications. The power consumed by trepanning tool is relatively less as compared to solid drills.

Trepanning tool provides you more efficient and faster machining as compared to indexable drill. They can be used on all the machines such as horizontal mills, boring machines, turret lathes, radial drills VMC, CNC, HMC etc. The advantage of trepanning tool is that you can remove and reuse the left out metal core, thus reducing material cost.
